Nestled in the scenic foothills of Snowdonia, the lively market town of Machynlleth warmly welcomes visitors every August to a captivating week-long Festival celebrating Welsh and International music, culture, and heritage.
This year, the festival returns to Machynlleth from 20-27 August 2023. The Tabernacle will host renowned performers who will treat audiences to a diverse program of world-class chamber music. Highlights include performances by violinist Rachel Podger and her ensemble, Brecon Baroque, pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja leading Schubert Day, and the debut of Júlia Kozáková and her Gypsy Band. The festival opens with the Cymanfa Ganu, a non-ticketed event of sacred hymns sung by the audience. Other events include discussions with Dafydd Iwan and performances by the Consone String Quartet. Co-Artistic Director Julius Drake invites everyone to enjoy this week of exceptional music and the warm hospitality of Machynlleth.
